twitkick.org launched
It’s been a while since I had the idea of reading fooball results via twitter. I tried some commercial sports twitterers like kicker. Kicker’s tweets really got down to the nitty-gritty. They read very machine generated.
When Grails 1.2.0 was launched before Christmas I started to build my own football results twitter service just for fun. Using the results from OpenLigaDB via SOAP, some Grails plugins and Twitter4j for the Twitter integration I made it conveniently on schedule to be live with the end of the winter break in January. Piece of cake. Appropriate domain registered: twitkick.org was luckily available.
I’m pretty curious how followers might grow within the remaining season.
